Hello readers,The purpose of this blog is to compile my published reviews in one place. I've also included links to their original sources. I have an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Idaho State University and as well as a Masters in Film Studies from Orange County's Chapman University/Dodge College of Film and Television. I've been a life-long movie fan and I hope that my reviews will provide some interesting insight into their both the overall quality of the films reviewed, as well as their cultural/entertainment purpose.
A little bit about my history in reviewing:
While putting myself through college as a video store employee, I started a bi-monthly review show on Pocatello Idaho's public access channel 12, which I then converted into a floundering Youtube channel of my own called Videoclerks: Rental Review. I co-hosted the show with Christopher Hull from late 2009 to mid 2012. Soon after, I was able to parlay my video-reviewing into review writing when an alternative zine called The Basic Alternative invited me to join their staff.
A year later, I approached The Idaho State Journal (our daily newspaper) to write a weekly movie review column that would appear in every Sunday issue. I've continued with this commitment since July of 2012. Around this time, I also began contributing to a Seattle-based movie site called The MacGuffin, which is overseen by the programmers of the Seattle International Film Festival.
Along with my written reviews, I also host and edit a weekly movie-review podcast called Jabber and the Drone. Via the magic of Skype, I record the show with an old friends, first Richard Wolley from Portland Oregon and now my current co-host Keith Foster. In this format we tend to let our hair down a little and have a good chuckle as we review one or more new releases available in theaters, as well another film from Netflix's streaming service.
If you like what you see here, feel free to share one of my reviews on your twitter or facespace or tumtrist...or whatever it is now.
Thank you for your page-view,
Cassidy Robinson.
